What seems like a long time ago now I asked myself, what are the top 10 things I have learned that has helped me create and enjoy relative success and freedom in my life? I quickly jotted down the first 10 things that came to my mind and as I read over them I thought, wow thats pretty good, this would make a good book! So I decided to write one. I took the outline I had jotted down and went to a little cabin in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and in 7 days I wrote the book, The Top 10 Distinctions between Millionaires and the Middle Class. I came home excited and decided to self publish it and see what kind of response I got with it. A few months later the physical copy was in my hands and I started sending copies out to my circle of influence.
The response was good, real good. Several people were contacting me back asking to buy multiple copies. One colleague ordered 100 copies! Not long after I had sent copies out I received a phone call from out of the blue from a literary agent. She told me that one of my colleagues had given her a copy of the book and that she thought she could sell it to a major publishing company and asked if I wanted to do that? I said let me think about it ummmmm…. Yes lets do it. A short time later the agent and I were on a phone call with Random House and after the call the agent called me right back and said Random House wanted to publish it and fast track it to be released in the summer! In less than a year I had written the book, self published it and sold the world wide rights to the biggest publisher in the world at that time.
In the summer of 2007 the book was released in stores and online and it quickly went into many other countries and languages across the earth. That same year I started giving talks based on the book to local businesses and within a few years I had traveled and spoke in most major cities in America. While traveling and teaching I decided to turn the book into a series and wrote 5 other books by 2010. 2 more of which were published by major publishers again and 3 I self published.
While writing The Top 10 Distinctions between Entrepreneurs and Employees I was giving a talk at a conference center in Phoenix Arizona on the Dream Fulfillers book and Sharon Lechter was in the audience. Sharon is the co-author of the Rich Dad Poor Dad series which has sold millions of copies. We met and had a good connection. I asked her if she would consider writing the forward to Entrepreneurs and Employees? I sent her a manuscript and she seemed to love it and agreed to write the forward. I am grateful to her for that. A short time later, Random House published that book too.
Over the years I have received thousands of testimonials on how one of the books or one of my live presentations has helped people gain more clarity and focus in pursuing their personal goals and dreams. I still receive emails almost everyday from someone somewhere in the world sharing their gratitude for one of the books. I believe part of my purpose in life is to inspire people to believe and encourage them to take action through my books and talks.
You can get to where you want to go by starting where you are. It takes intense focus and consistent action. My books can help you make wise decisions for your personal path.
If you haven’t read my books before then I believe you will discover them to be a benefit to your life and assist you in achieving true success and significance.
Faith, Hope and Love,
